1. What data we collect

When you create a ShortTerm account, we collect your email address and, if you choose to sign in with Google, the basic Google profile information needed for authentication.

We also collect your profile information: name, nationality, languages you speak, profile photo, and lifestyle preferences (habits, schedule, whether you smoke, whether you have pets). This information is used solely to show compatibility between hosts and seekers.

If you post a room as a host, we collect the data for that listing: address, location, photos, price, and house rules.

We collect the messages you send through chat with other users inside the app, once you've matched.

We collect a push notification token from your device so we can send you notifications about your activity in the app.

2. Who we share data with

We don't sell your data. We share information with the following providers, who process data on our behalf so the app can work:

•Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage (hosting infrastructure).
•Google — only if you choose to sign in with Google (OAuth).
•Sentry — error and crash monitoring, including session replay, which may include personal data.
•Brevo — sending transactional emails, for example notifications about reports.
•Expo/EAS — push notification delivery.

3. What we use your data for

We use your data to connect hosts with seekers, enable chat within the app, send you transactional notifications, process safety reports, and fix application bugs.

4. What we do NOT use your data for

ShortTerm doesn't process payments: the app has no payment or booking feature, so we don't collect or process card or payment data.

We don't use your data for ad targeting.

We don't sell your data to third parties.

5. Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by writing to the contact address listed at the end of this document.

6. Data retention and deletion

When you delete your account from the app, your profile is removed following the app's deletion flow. Exact retention periods for each type of data are subject to legal and product review, and will be detailed in the final version of this document.
